JOPLIN, Mo.—On August 29, Jared Young will announce his candidacy for Missouri’s 2024 U.S. Senate seat as an independent. Local and national polls show that voters are growing weary of the unproductive bickering between parties and are looking for candidates who will bring focus to people over party.
“Party politics have become destructive to America and its purposes. Political parties, especially on the national level, contrive to pit Americans against each other. Politicians deliberately divide and weaken America in order to achieve party victories” said Joseph Shephard, Missouri physician. “Jared combines incredible intelligence, a kind heart, and a fixed determination to do what is right. He will represent us well.”
The 2024 election cycle has already begun to demonstrate the kind of disrespectful and destructive dialogue being modeled by candidates for both sides. As has been seen, that rancor carries over into how our politicians interact while in office, leading to a lack of progress on those things that matter most for our country.
“Extremists in both parties have hijacked our government. Republican and Democrat candidates alike are more focused on fighting each other than fighting for ordinary Missourians. Our State needs an independent outsider in the Senate focused on solutions rather than partisanship,” Young said.
A first-time candidate, Young previously served as President and CEO of Joplin-based Employer Advantage, a nationally recognized provider of human resources services for local small businesses. Most recently, Young was the Chief Acquisitions Officer of G&A Partners, a major national professional employer organization. Earlier in his career, Young practiced corporate law at the law firm Wiley Rein LLP in Washington, DC. Young graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School. Young resides in Joplin with his wife, Christine, and their six children. He serves on the Board of the local Boys& Girls Club and in a variety of volunteer roles in his church.
Young will hold a formal launch event at 7:00pm on August 29at the Sterling Event Center, 4977 E. Zora Street, in Joplin. Young’s campaign launch video can be viewed at www.votejaredyoung.com/bebettervideo.
